I had read the eSATA cable may or may not work, so I halfway didnt expect it to work and planned on sending it back. But I'll say mine worked great. Just one eSATA cable (no external powersource) and I was hitting write speeds of 10-15MB/s. I think thats even higher than advertised. I moved 40GB worth of music and pics in no time, and drive was really quiet and only got a little bit warm after about 1 hour of straight use.
